Forum for Proximity organizes ceremony to commemorate Allamah Fadlallah

A ceremony was held, July 22, at Tehran’s Masjid Nur (Nur Mosque) to commemorate the late Lebanese renowned Islamic Alim Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah.

Present at the ceremony were the late Allamah Fadllalah's son Sayyed Ali Fadlallah, Hujjatul Islam Mohammadi Golpayegani Chief of Staff at the Office of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Masud Zaribafan representing President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Ayatollah Taskhiri Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati Secretary of the Guardian Council, Hujjatul Islam Akhtari president of the World Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) Assembly, Dr. Gholam Ali Haddad Adel head of Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly's (Parliament) cultural commission, as well as other high-ranking officials and ambassadors of some Islamic countries. The ceremony war organized by the Tehran based World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.

At the onset of the ceremony the Holy Quran was recited by internationally acclaimed Iranian Qari Hassan Rezaeeyan. A message of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei on the demise of Ayatollah Fadlallah was also read at the commencement of the ceremony.

Addressing the event, Hujjatul Islam Sayyed Ali Fadlallah stressed the late Allamah Fadlallah’s all-out support for the Islamic revolution. “Allameh Fadlallah believed Iran is the main base for Islam and the world’s freedom-seekers and the main country supporting the Islamic resistance in Lebanon and Palestine.” Also speaking was Hujjatul Islam Araki member of the supreme council of the World ul-Bayt (AS) Assembly who elaborated on the character of late Ayatollah Fadlallah and his all-out support for the Islamic revolution and the Supreme Leader. Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah passed away on 4 July in a Beirut hospital at the age of 75 of internal bleeding.
